It’s been reported that the remaining celebrities were due to pose with the trophy ahead of the final.

But just before they arrived for the shoot, despite the trophy being new it ‘mysteriously’ began to shed some of its mirrored pieces.

Strictly’s known for its curses with romances and now we have a new one.

A source told the Daily Star: “Strictly’s known for its curses with romances and now we have a new one.”

Last year, winner Stacey Dooley lost her trophy just hours after she won.

Her fellow 2018 contestant, Dr Ranj Singh, revealed he thought he misplaced it after “sneaking a picture” with the trophy.

“Here’s a little secret … so after the after-party, I may have snuck a picture with Stacey’s trophy,” he said on The Telegraph’s Talking Strictly podcast.

“Then there was a message on the WhatsApp group yesterday saying, ‘Has anyone seen my trophy? I left it in the room with all the bags and now I can’t find it.'”

Saturday’s final will see Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke, Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden and Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse all competing for the Glitterball.

Kelvin and Oti have never been in the bottom two throughout the series, and they are favourites to lift the trophy.

But Karim and Amy and Emma and Anton will be hot on their heels.
