Strictly talent scout in hot water over social media ‘cocaine’ reference

Bosses slam her "unacceptable" behaviour

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reeling after the show’s top talent scout shared a social media post referencing cocaine use.

Stefania Aleksander, who’s in charge of lining up celebrities for the popular BBC dance show, uploaded a picture to her Instagram page that seemed to suggest she was planning to take the Class A drug while on holiday.

And Strictly bosses have reacted strongly to the news, describing Stefania’s actions as “unacceptable”.

Stefania’s Instagram photo showed a list of items to take with her on her upcoming trip to Ibiza.

The handwritten list included the words “champagne and cocaine”.

However, shortly after the photo was posted online, it was taken down again. And Stefania’s account now appears to have been deleted.

According to a close friend of the talent scout, the list was meant in jest, and Stefania was horrified when she realised how it might be construed.

The pal said: “Stef is completely mortified. Some friends had written a jokey list on a piece of paper, and she didn’t notice this was on there before posting it.

“As soon as it was flagged to her, she took the post down as it’s clearly not something she’d ever endorse.”

Stefania’s bosses at the BBC were none too impressed, though, and have apparently told her as much.

A source explained: “Strictly bosses take this sort of thing extremely seriously. They’ve had very strong words to make it clear this is unacceptable.”

Stefania was not among a team of Strictly execs who attended last night’s BAFTA TV Awards in London.

An insider told The Sun: “She’s devastated, and prepared to beg to keep her job if necessary, but she’s put herself in a very difficult position.”

Stefania’s social media post was the last thing Strictly bosses would’ve wanted to deal with right now.

Only last month, popular judge Darcey Bussell announced that she was leaving the show after seven series, and producers are now in a race to find a replacement before the next series starts in the autumn.
