Strictly star reveals that she hopes to crack America in the new year

She has big plans for 2018

She may have been the first contestant to get the boot from this year’s Strictly, but it sounds like the experience hasn’t knocked Chizzy Akudolu’s confidence one bit.

The former Holby City actress, 44, has revealed that she has BIG plans for the new year.

Chizzy says that, once Christmas is over, she intends to up sticks and move to America in search of an exciting new start.

And she even claimed that she’s written a FILM (about dancing, perhaps?).

Chizzy teamed up with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev on Strictly, but her time on the show was fleeting as the pair got voted off in the first week.

But, although viewers didn’t back her dancing skills, she received a lot of plaudits for her radiant smile and witty personality.

And now, the London-born star is hoping to charm a few people on the other side of the pond, too.

She told The Sun Online: “New year, new challenges, new Chizzy. I left Holby City to go to America, then Strictly came up so I put it on hold.”

Chizzy revealed that she’s bagged herself a manager and applied for a visa. Once that comes through, she can start looking for work in earnest.

And she admitted that, right now, she doesn’t mind what kind of work that is.

She said: “I’m open to all of it – TV, movies… and I host as well. I’m kind of funny, which they kind of like over there.”

And ambitious Chizzy isn’t just narrowing her search to jobs in FRONT of the camera.

She explained: “I’ve written a film and I’m going to be filming the teaser in January. I’m on the train and I refuse to get off.”

Just remember to come back and say hello every now and again, Chizzy!
