Strictly star panics that Hurricane Ophelia will affect next performance

Strictly fans were out in force to offer solutions!

Generous Strictly Come Dancing fans have been offering their help to Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton after Hurricane Ophelia threatened their upcoming performance.

A worried Susan, 42, revealed that her pro dance partner Kevin, 35, was having difficulties reaching her in Glasgow because of the storm.

And with just days to perfect their Cha Cha Cha ahead of Saturday night’s live show, every second of rehearsal time really does count.

Eek!

Susan tweeted on Monday morning that Kevin’s flight to Glasgow had been cancelled because of the weather.

No biggie, right? Er, kind of, yes, according to Susan, who said: “Really hoping he makes it up to Glasgow later. I’m not a natural at the Cha Cha Cha and need all the rehearsal time I can get!”

Staying true to her comedian roots, she decided there was nothing to do but stay positive.

“Thank goodness I’m such a natural at the Latin dances. We will have two and half days to learn the number,” she tweeted.

“I’m fine though,” she added. “3 days to learn a dance is fine. No problem.”

That’s the spirit!

Well, the Strictly audience are nothing if not loyal, and took to Twitter in droves to say they’d help Kevin get to Glasgow from London in any way they could.

Offers came pouring in from fans who said they’d give Kevin a lift – with many getting in on the action and suggesting a form of carpooling.

Others offered the use of their homes for rehearsal, if Susan and Kevin could meet at a mid-way point.

There were other less practical but funny suggestions, as well. Any one got Harry Potter’s number?

Susan even reached out to billionaire Sir Richard Branson to see if he could help with a spare helicopter or plane.

No answer yet, sadly…

With zero progress on the travel front, Susan admitted defeat, saying she and Kevin would probably have to rehearse via Skype.

Better than nothing though, right?

There was a glimmer of hope, however, when it emerged one of Susan’s friends actually knows the Cha Cha Cha and could step in as a temporary Kevin. Woohoo!

Sadly for the pal, it seems his chance to be a knight in shining armor may not actually be needed, as Susan later updated fans to say Kevin was en route to Glasgow.

With Kevin on the way, the hard part is done!

Learning a Cha Cha Cha to impress four stern judges is easy peasy in comparison, right?

Safe travels, Kevin!
