Strictly star Joe McFadden urges show to make some changes

There's one thing he wants

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Joe McFadden appeared on today’s Loose Women and suggested that he wants the dancing contest to make a few changes.

And what’s the one thing he really wants? Them to introduce Scottish dancing!

The Scotsman has made no secret of the fact he wants to wear a kilt at some point while participating, but with only a few weeks remaining he might be running out of time.

When Janet Street-Porter asked him about how his Scottish dancing was, he replied that it was okay, and that they should introduce it to the show.

“I would love them too,” he laughed.  “They should do a Scottish version, they do an Irish version.”

We reckon Scottish dancing would be a pretty tough one to master!

The Holby City actor also talked about this week’s semi final in which he and pro partner Katya Jones will be performing the American Smooth and The Argentine Tango.

“I’m nervous about the semi final,” he admitted. “We’ve had a fantastic time and gotten to this stage.

“It’s the first week I’ve not had any injuries and I feel like I’m in the rhythm of it now. It feels nice to be doing two dances.”

Speaking of his future post-Strictly, Joe revealed he’s really keen to keep dancing.

“I’m very much hoping to do the Strictly tour. It’s not been finalised yet, but I’m hoping to do it. Fingers crossed. We’ll see.”

Katya was in the audience and when Joe was asked about her previous dance partner, Ed Balls, she interjected.

“I can tell you the difference between Ed and Joe – this guy is breaking my back!”

Sounds like he’s working her as hard as she’s working him!

“Katya is amazing,” Joe revealed. “She’s a fantastic choreographer and a bit like a counsellor really, having to get me through it.

“In the beginning I was looking around thinking everyone else was amazing, and it was scaring me as I thought I was never going to be as good.

“Katya just said to me: ‘You can only try and be better than yourself.'”

What a team!
