Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden was rushed to hospital in an ambulance over the weekend and ended up missing Saturday’s live show (November 27).
Amy shared the news on her Instagram account last night.
And she revealed a bit of heartbreaking news with fans, too.
What did Strictly pro Amy say about being hospitalised?
As avid Strictly fans will know, Amy suffers from Crohn’s.
And it was a flare up of the condition that led to her being rushed to hospital in an ambulance.
“Thanks for the all messages over the weekend,” Amy started the post which saw her posing alongside Tom and Giovanna Fletcher.
“Unfortunately, I was missing from the show as I had an unexpected Crohn’s flare up and hospital admission in which I received unbelievable care.
“I’m recovering very well and certainly being well looked after and look forward to returning to the dance floor.”

Amy pays tribute to Tom and Giovanna
She then revealed why Tom, Giovanna and Sara Davies had been looking after her instead of her fiancé Ben.
“Big thanks to lovely @saradaviescc and @tomfletcher for taking care of me. Of all the days to be poorly, Ben was in Blackpool with the dance school.”
As a result, she then paid tribute to her 2021 Strictly celebrity partner and his wife.
Omg you’re looking so much better than when I last saw you as we closed the doors on the ambulance as they carted you off on Friday night.
“To the Fletchers who made sure I had everything and more at the hospital, have brought me back to theirs where the whole family are giving me all the love, care, burnt toast (Tom), unlimited supply of @mrsgifletcher clothes along with @tomfletcher sock choice 😜 you could possibly need, lots of drawings and pretend injections from my new doctors Buzz, Buddy and Max.
“Thank you, they really were sent to me,” she declared.
Tom and Sara left with ‘tears in their eyes’
Sara Davies also commented and revealed she and Tom were close to tears when Amy was taken to hospital.
“Omg you’re looking so much better than when I last saw you as we closed the doors on the ambulance as they carted you off on Friday night,” she said.
“Me and Tom were just watching them drive off into the night with tears in our eyes!”
