Strictly Come Dancing viewers fuming as voting issues plague final

It caused a panic on social media

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing were left fuming as issues with the show’s voting system plagued the final.

After finalists Karim, Emma and Kelvin had each danced their judge’s pick during tonight’s (14.12.19) grand finale, host Tess Daly told viewers at home to get voting for their favourite performances so far.

But many viewers reported having issues with the voting system, calling it “broken” and demanding that the BBC fix it ASAP.

One said on Twitter: “I cannot vote online, what is wrong? #StrictlyFinal.”

Another wrote: “Yet again, gone to vote and it has told me I’ve reached the max votes before I’ve even done anything! What is wrong with the voting system? #StrictlyFinal.”

A third tweeted: “Online voting wrong – haven’t had all my votes #StrictlyFinal How can the vote be fair? @BBC.”

Tonight is not the night for your online vote to be broken!

Someone else put: “@bbcstrictly something wrong with the vote. Went to vote and it told me thank you for your vote! #StrictlyFinal.”

A fifth wrote: “#StrictlyFinal and the vote is broken. Sums up the country as a whole right now.”

“Online voting for #BBCStrictly is broken. Says I’ve done maximum votes and not been able to actually vote once. #StrictlyFinal
@bbcstrictly,” said a sixth.

Another said: “@bbcstrictly tonight is not the night for your online vote to be broken! Sort it out and fast! #StrictlyFinal.”

Tess later explained: “I have to say this, we are experiencing a very high volume of votes tonight, so if you are having any difficulty voting online, remember, you can also vote by phone.”

It follows reports that the programme’s iconic Glitterball trophy was in trouble ahead of the final.

The trophy was said to have ‘fallen apart’ just hours before tonight’s show – and bosses now believe it to be ‘cursed’.

It’s been reported that the three remaining celebrities were due to pose with the trophy before their last performances of the series.

But just before they arrived for the shoot, despite the trophy being new, it ‘mysteriously’ began to shed some of its mirrored pieces, with a source telling the Daily Star: “Strictly’s known for its curses with romances and now we have a new one.”
