Strictly fans divided over Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton’s sizzling reunion

Back with a bang - but were you glad to see them back?

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing got up and running last night.

There was much excitement inside the Strictly studio as this year’s celebs were paired with their pro dancers.

But one part of the show divided fans more than most… last year’s winners Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton’s reunion on the dance floor performing their Paso Doble.

The pair – now a real-life couple – took to the floor to recreate their Glitterball-winning dance from last year’s competition.

After the smouldering routine, Stacey panted: “I am so exhausted.”

“I can imagine you’re exhausted that’s a tiring routine,” co-host Tess Daley replied.

“I’m no good now, I’m old hat,” Stacey laughed in response.

Tess then asked Stacey, 32, what advice she would give to the new contestants.

“Just enjoy it, don’t take it too seriously, put the hours in and just try your best.

“And you only do Strictly once and then it’s done. Just love it love it love it.”

Many fans quickly took to social media to express their delight at the routine.

“Oh I’ve missed Kevin and Stacey so much. #Strictly,” one commented on Twitter.

Another wrote: “Can Stacey & Kevin come back every year and perform the Paso? #Strictly.”

“I think that was even more sassier than last year… and I loved it! Great to see you both together on the dance floor again. Paso Dooley forever!” a third wrote.

But not everyone was happy.

“Liked the song, but the dance was blah!” one Tweeter said.

Other unconvinced Strictly fans illustrated their displeasure – possibly at the performance, possibly at the presence of Kev and Stace – with images attached to their tweets.

Were you happy to see Kevin and Stacey back in Strictly action?
