Strictly Come Dancing ‘lines up mega-money deal to tempt Our Girl star Michelle Keegan’

Could she follow in Mark's footsteps?

| Updated:

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly trying to tempt Our Girl and former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan onto the show with a huge money deal.

The popular actress has a massive millennial fan base and a show insider claimed the BBC wants to attract a younger audience by hiring Michelle.

And bosses are reportedly ready to “break the bank” to get the 30-year-old.

“That’s a demographic that they are desperate to attract to the show and something they are willing to break the bank for.”

Michelle’s husband and former TOWIE star Mark Wright appeared on the hit weekend show back in 2014, making it to the final before eventually coming fourth.

And the former Corrie actress explained afterwards how it had put her off becoming a contestant.

She told the Radio Times: “It was so horrible watching Mark!

“Mark’s a more confident person than me.

“And I remember seeing how nervous he was and thinking, ‘If he’s like that, I just couldn’t do it’.”

BBC bosses will be hoping her feelings have changed if they have any chance of getting her in front of Darcy, Craig, Bruno and Shirley for the next series.

Michelle and Mark were spotted hitting the gym together in Los Angeles recently, as they both continue to work on new projects.

Mark is presenting TV show Extra while Michelle reportedly has a US agent as she wants to crack the American market.

However, if she does land a lucrative job Stateside, it won’t be a permanent move.

In an interview with Heat magazine last year, Michelle said she’d be happy to take jobs in America, but would be reluctant to make a full-time move.

“If a job came up in America I’d jump at the chance, but I don’t think I’d move over there because I’m such a homebird,” she said.

“If a job came up where I had to live there for a certain amount of time. I’d definitely do it, though.”
