Strictly Come Dancing couple reveal baby plans

Do we detect a hint of broodiness?

Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec only got married in the summertime, but they’re already facing the question every newlywed couple dreads – about having children!

And in a recent interview, the twinkle-toed couple revealed exactly where the pitter-patter of tiny dancing feet fit into their future.

Talking to OK! magazine, Janette responded to a question about whether they’d considered having some little Skorjanecs.

She said: “Maybe! We both really want kids but you have to plan your time when you’re a dancer.”

For his part, Aljaz responded: “I would have a baby tomorrow, but it’s all down to planning. It’s so exciting to have done Strictly for five years and we’re getting so busy when the show isn’t on.

“We can’t wait to have a baby. If you could have a baby in nine days instead of nine months, we’d have four by now!”

The duo were married earlier this summer, and among other things the occasion was notable as one of the occasions where Louise Redknapp was pictured partying without husband Jamie.

The couple have now decided to split, with Louise crediting friend Daisy Lowe – who also attended Janette and Aljaz’s wedding – with rejuvenating her life.

Aljaz was also Daisy’s dance partner when she appeared in the series and the group have all remained in close contact.

After the show, Aljaz’s fiancee Janette praised Daisy and their bond as dancers.

Looks like when Janette and Aljaz do have kids, there’ll be plenty of competition for godparents!

In other Strictly news, favourite Joe McFadden appeared on today’s Loose Women and suggested that he wants the dancing contest to make a few changes.

And what’s the one thing he really wants? Them to introduce Scottish dancing!

The Scotsman has made no secret of the fact he wants to wear a kilt at some point while participating, but with only a few weeks remaining he might be running out of time.

When Janet Street Porter asked him about how his Scottish dancing was, he replied that it was okay, and that they should introduce it to the show.

“I would love them too,” he laughed.  “They should do a Scottish version, they do an Irish version.”

The Holby City actor also talked about this week’s semi final in which he and pro partner Katya Jones will be performing the American Smooth and The Argentine Tango.

“I’m nervous about the semi final,” he admitted. “We’ve had a fantastic time and gotten to this stage.

“It’s the first week I’ve not had any injuries and I feel like I’m in the rhythm of it now. It feels nice to be doing two dances.”
