They raised more than a few eyebrows when their on-screen friendship turned to romance on BBC dance show Strictly Come Dancing.
And now 2018 winner Stacey Dooley has opened up about the decision to keep her relationship with her former dance partner Kevin Clifton under wraps.
The pair met when Stacey signed up to appear on last year’s Strictly and Kevin was assigned as her professional dance partner.
In a dramatic turn of events, the broadcaster ended her relationship with her personal trainer boyfriend Sam Tucknott as the rumour mill went into overdrive, with stories suggesting she and Kevin were an item.

Sam claimed that, at the time of the split, he discovered flirty text messages from Kevin on Stacey’s phone and called him, labelling him a “snake” and a “rat”.
Kevin and Stacey went Instagram official in April.
After all the controversy, Stacey has understandably remained coy about her new man.
However, she has now decided to opened up – ever so slightly – about her beau, calling him “amazing”.
Speaking to The Guardian, Stacey revealed the real reason that she and Kevin decided to keep their private life private.
She said: “Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy.”
She also revealed that it’s strictly no comment from the pair as she’s turned down big-money deals from magazines keen to find out the inside story of their love affair.
Stacey admitted: “That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds.”
She would say, however, that she’s very happy with the professional dancer, who was married to fellow Strictly star Karen Clifton.
Calling Kevin “amazing”, Stacey said: “What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky.”
