Sinitta reveals why she will not be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house

Singer sets the record straight following allegations of diva demands

| Updated:

When rumours started circulating that both Sinitta and Dawn Ward were going to be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother this year, eyebrows were raised.

Only last year, Housewives Of Cheshire star Dawn was found guilty of assaulting the X Factor celebrity at a London restaurant.

Now, Sinitta has confirmed she’s not signed up for the forthcoming series – due to start on Tuesday – despite the rumours.

And her reason for turning down the show is that she “did not want to be hit again”.

Dawn is thought to be entering the house.

The assault happened when Simon Cowell’s former squeeze, 53, met Dawn at a London restaurant in 2015, reportedly to clear the air over gossip that one of their mutual friends had been having an affair.

However, the atmosphere quickly turned nasty, with both women aiming jibes at the other.

Dawn, 43, reportedly called the So Macho singer a “has-been one-hit wonder” who was “hanging on to Simon Cowell’s coat tails”.

That’s when the altercation occurred – although, after being found guilty of the charge, Dawn reportedly said she was “disappointed that the court has found a prod on Sinitta’s shoulder” to be classed as common assault.

The reality star was bound over to keep the peace for three months, with the threat of a £500 fine if she broke the conditions.

And speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Sinitta cut straight to the chase when giving her reasons for not wanting to do Celebrity Big Brother.

The singer said: “I know Dawn is going into the house, but thank God I am not… I did ask for 24-hour security, as I have been hit once in my life and I did not want to be hit again.”

If the CBB line-up rumours are to be believed, we should be in for some cracking telly.

Earlier this week, The Sun claimed that stars including Shaun Williamson – who played Barry in EastEnders – Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, Ex On The Beach loudmouth Jemma Lucy and former X Factor contestant Amelia Lily will all be taking up residence in the Elstree house.

Plenty of potential there for a heated argument or two.
