Rylan Clark-Neal resists rude innuendo on This Morning show

Host was not impressed with a cheeky innuendo scripted for him

Unimpressed This Morning host Rylan Clark-Neal channelled his anger into an almighty pout earlier today after show bosses scripted him to say a rude innuendo on air.

Stand in presenter Rylan, 29, refused to read out the naughty line from the autocue referring to upcoming guests from TV show Airline as the show returned from an ad break.

“I’m not saying that!” he bawled to surprised fellow host Emma Willis after a few awkward moments of silence.

Despite his initial strop, Rylan forced himself to follow the script.

Imitating a flight attendant speaking into a microphone, he said: “Okay, if I do it like this… I’ll do it properly… So it’ll be like: ‘Still to come – something to suck on for landing sir? Prepare for takeoff as we reunite the stars of Airline’.”

A weary Rylan added: “That’s the only way I can say that.”

“Why do they do this to me?” he sighed.

As Emma tittered behind clasped hands, an exasperated Rylan clarified: “They are on about a boiled sweet…”

The stony-faced star added under his breath: “Fly me anywhere away from here!”

But Rylan embraced This Morning’s cheeky ways later on in the programme when he made another saucy pun relating to Airline.

“The landing strip is clear and I’m ready to go down,” he said, looking straight into the camera.

Rylan and Emma have proved a hit with This Morning viewers as they filled in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby this week.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford take over presenting duties next week.

This Morning is on ITV, weekdays, from 10.30am.
