The new class of cute kids already has some stand out characters from cheeky Vinnie to Victoria – who announced she wants to be a party planner when she grows up.

But it was Ada and Tomas who really hit viewers right in the feels with their adorable fledgling friendship.

Ada, who has Downs Syndrome, had been struggling to find a playmate and Tomas came to her rescue, playing picnics with her.

But it was when the little lad tried to reassure his new friend over her fear of rabbits that got viewers choked up.

Little Ada initially ran away from the pet rabbits at the nursery, but Tomas headed after her with a toy rabbit and explained: “Rabbits don’t eat humans, they only eat carrot and carrot cake.”

After his explanation, a comforted Ada went and touched one of the pets, sending Twitter into an emotional frenzy.

One viewer tweeted: “Ada and Tomas = Friendship Goals.”

Another agreed, adding: “Ada and Tomas are my fave !”

A third tweeted: “Watched #secretlifeof4yearolds and thought I’d got through an episode with out blubbing,, NOPE! Ada & Tomas got me right at the end.”

And a fourth said: “How bloody cute is #secretlifeof4yearolds Tomas and Ada are friend goals!”

Tomas’ kind hearted act won over Ada as well as viewers, as she later referred to him as her “best friend”. Major heart-melt moment.

As well as Tomas and Ada, who we’re gonna dub Tada, cheeky scamps Vinnie and Harper also proved to be a hit with fans of the show.

They were even compared to mini versions of Love Island lads Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay by one viewer who wrote: “Vinne and harper on #secretlifeof4yearolds are the mini versions of @chrishughes_22 and #KemCetinay”

Vinnie and Harper caused chaos when they appeared on This Morning yesterday, with Philip Schofield having to resort to bribing them with sweets to calm down.

The Secret Life of 4 & 5 years olds continues next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
