Ryan Thomas shares sweet snap as he prepares to leave Neighbours

He's already finishing up his time on Ramsay Street

Ryan Thomas has revealed his time on Neighbours is coming to an end, by sharing a shot taken with the cast of the show.

The hunk, made famous by his turn as Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, has spent the last month or so filming in sunny Melbourne.

He’s been shooting his final scenes as bad-boy newcomer Rafael Humphreys, after landing the guest-starring role.

And it was thought the move could have put a real strain on his relationship with TOWIE star-turned-fitness guru Lucy Mecklenburgh.

However, all that seems to be in the past as Lucy’s a smiling part of the group photo, wearing a low-cut maroon top.

At the sendoff, Ryan took the time to thank the cast and crew for all their help and support, captioning the image: “‘Everybody needs good neighbours’ #familygoals thank you guys nothing but absolute love.”

Fans quickly commented on the image, with one cheekily suggesting that Ryan – with free time on his hands and already in Australia – may be making a return to the I’m A Celebrity camp!

Ryan’s time on the soap will certainly be intriguing to fans of both Neighbours and Corrie, with the role of mysterious loner Rafael an acting challenge.

Ryan said, after taking the part: “It was very different from anything I’d played before – it was quite a deep, dark story, that really interested me.

“It’s a new challenge and I can’t wait to start filming.”

His last scenes had included filming with Matt Wilson, who plays Aaron Brennan in the Australian soap.

Matt told Digital Spy: “Ryan’s a good lad. He’s actually staying around the corner from me, so every couple of days, we’ll catch up for a coffee or a beer somewhere.”

“I think Ryan is comfortable here, but if only we could keep him for a little longer, that would be even better.”

Fans will have to wait until February next year to see what Ryan brings to the role, and not much is known about his character – who has been described as “a loner with dark secrets.”

Our main question is, will he speak in Ryan’s northern tones, or will he have had to master an Australian accent?
