Ruth Langsford stunned as Joe Swash says she ‘doesn’t deserve’ husband Eamonn Holmes

It was all in jest!

Ruth Langsford was left stunned as Joe Swash admitted he doesn’t think she “deserves” her husband Eamonn Holmes.

On Tuesday’s Loose Women, Ruth was joined by her partner Eamonn on the panel while panellist Stacey Solomon brought along Joe for a ‘loved ones’ special ahead of Valentine’s Day.

The couples were talking about whether they put their partner’s happiness before their own and Eamonn, 59, had the sweetest response.

The presenter said: “As long as you’re happy I do everything to make you happy. My own happiness doesn’t even come second. Fifth it does.”

As Ruth gushed, Joe jumped in and jokingly told Ruth: “You know, I don’t think you deserve Eamonn.”

The audience gasped as Ruth’s jaw dropped.

Joe asked Eamonn: “Do you want to marry me? You sound like the perfect man to me,” to which Ruth hit back: “I was sticking up for you before!”

Joe replied: “Sorry, sorry, sorry.”

Eamonn joked: “So many people get in touch with me on social media to say the same and I’m thinking about getting back in touch again.”

Turning the conversation to Stacey and Joe, Ruth asked her: “Do you put Joe’s happiness above your own?”

As Stacey hesitated slightly, Joe cut in: “Well, that just says it all! She swallowed there.”

Stacey replied: “When it’s necessary. But in a nice way. We both have children, we both have family members, we both have lives that we have to put first by default.

“But if you ever needed anything and if there was ever a time you needed me to put you first, then I always will.”

Joe added: “Stacey’s always going to be there for me for support and love, but like you Eamonn, I think I show more.”

Speaking about her relationship with Eamonn, Ruth admitted: “I don’t think I consciously wake up and think, ‘what can I do today to make Eamonn happy?'”

Eamonn joked: “No, but you do wake up and say, ‘what can I do to make him miserable?'”

Joking about having Eamonn and Joe on the show, Ruth said: “I knew this was a mistake,” to which Stacey added: “We should have said no.”
