Richard Madeley makes cheeky dig about Susanna Reid’s age on GMB

The TV host poked fun at her age

Susanna Reid was welcomed back to Good Morning Britain today but her co-host Richard Madeley ended up insulting her!

They had been debating the question: “Should parents stop drinking?”

The pair were discussing actress Anne Hathaway’s recent admission about giving up alcohol until her son is 18 years old.

Susanna, 48, then brought up her own decision to cut out booze in a bid to lose weight and be healthier.

Richard, 62, then said he was baffled that Anne said she gets four-day hangovers.

He exclaimed: “I mean, how much is she knocking back?”

Susanna retorted: “People always assume when you give up alcohol you’ve had a massive problem with it, but you haven’t!”

She went on to explain that hangovers often get worse with age, to which Richard said: “She’s not that old?”

When Susanna then pointed out that she was older than Anne, Richard cheekily jibed: “Yeah, she’s not as old as you.”

Susanna didn’t look too pleased!

Richard has shocked GMB viewers with his comments on several occasions since he has been filling in for Piers Morgan.

He has sworn live on air and some viewers haven’t been impressed by his interviewing techniques.

But fans seemed pleased to have Susanna back on their morning TV, despite Piers still being absent.

“Oh my goodness. It’s great to have Susanna back 💙💙,” tweeted one viewer.

“Good to see you back Susanna hope you enjoyed the Easter break,” added another.

A third commented: “Welcome back Susanna, missed your lovely smile.”
