Phillip Schofield teases romance on new series of Dancing on Ice

He reckons there's "every possibility"!

Alongside the dancing on Strictly Come Dancing, there’s also a large dollop of romance rumours, and we could be in for similar from Dancing on Ice when the show returns after Christmas.

Philip Schofield, who hosts the show alongside Holly Willoughby, reckons there could be love in the air – or on the ice.

“There is every possibility,” he said at the official launch. “We’ve had relationships on the show before – people have got married. We’re always up for a bit of romance.”

Love blossomed on Strictly for Kara Tointon and her partner Artem, Georgia May-Foote and her pro Giovanni Pernice, plus Rachel Riley and her partner Pasha Kovalev – not name but a few.

At Dancing on Ice, meanwhile, there’s been a lot of romance in the past.

Hollyoaks star Jen Metcalfe fell for her pro-skater partner Sylvain Longchambon when she took part in the show in 2010. But he got together with another Dancing On Ice partner, Corrie actress Samia Ghadie, two years later.

Samia and Sylvain are now married with a baby boy, while Jen’s also mum to a little lad with her partner Greg Lake.

Sylvain’s back for the new show, dancing with Jen’s Hollyoaks c0-star, Steph Waring.

Other Dancing on Ice romances include former EastEnder Sam Attwater who married ice-dancer Vicky Ogden after meeting her on the show.

The pair now have a daughter. While footballer David Seaman also tied the knot with his Dancing on Ice pro, Frankie Poultney.

This year’s contestants are ready for anything as they learn to skate – and getting up close and personal with their partners already!

Bake Off star Candice Brown, who’s taking part in the newly relaunched show, said she’s had some funny moments with partner Matt Evers already.

“We’ve had some giggles, falls and some nice grabs,” she said. “Nobody saw – except three cameras!”

Dancing on Ice returns in January.
