Fans think Ruth Langsford accused of seething after Phillip Schofield interrupts her on This Morning

He apologised but she didn't seem happy at all

Ruth Langsford didn’t appear too impressed earlier today after Phillip Schofield awkwardly cut her off on This Morning.

Ruth, 59, was speaking during a preview of Loose Women on today’s show (April 23) about Emmerdale star Louisa Clein‘s forthcoming appearance on the panel when Phil suddenly interrupted.

The This Morning presenter cut in: “Guys, we’re going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid, because we’re a bit tight for time on this end!”

Ruth was visibly exasperated as Phil continued: “Thank you, Ruth, and we’ll catch you guys a little bit later.”

But it didn’t end there, as the two started talking over one another, with Ruth complaining to the other panellists that she only had “two more words to say”.

Viewers on Twitter who saw the tense exchange thought Ruth looked seething, with some branding her rude and pointing out that she did go on a bit.

One tweeted: “Haha Ruth Langsford cutting the one and only @Schofe off and slamming her pen down, how very professional.”

Someone else wrote: “Ruth seething right now. I heard that backchat.”

Another said: “Ohhh bit rude Ruth. It’s not @Schofe’s fault.”

A fourth commented: “Ruth did go on a bit in that link didn’t she? #ThisMorning.”

A fifth wrote: “Just switched on #ThisMorning to see Schofield telling Ruth Langsford that he needed to cut her off for time. Her reply? ‘I only had about three more words to say, so that’s fine’. She either doesn’t get the point of timing, or she wants to be a snarky old wasp with the last word.”

Ruth leads the panel of Loose Women a couple of times a week, and also hosts This Morning on a Friday alongside husband Eamonn Holmes.

Earlier this week Ruth was involved in a discussion on Loose Women about dementia.

Ruth explained that she wouldn’t want to take a test to see if she’s predisposed to develop the debilitating illness, as she wouldn’t want to have those fears weighing her down.

The presenter, whose dad passed away in 2012 from complications stemming from dementia, said: “I don’t think I want to know because there’s nothing they can do to change that.

“If I took that test and they said: ‘You’re likely to get it,’ you’re just left hanging there.”
