Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has admitted to “difficult times” amid a “rocky patch” in her marriage to husband, Clive.
Amanda, 47, is one of the break-out stars of 2021 thanks to the Channel 5 documentary series.
And now she’s opened up about her life, and addressed the reports about her marriage.
What did Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen say today?
Appearing on today’s Lorraine (Monday December 6), mum-of-nine Amanda spoke about the pressures of fame.
“The show is lovely,” host Lorraine Kelly said. “And people have got this thing where they think they know you, and they’ve got to know the children and the animals.
“There’s always a downside and of course you’ve had that attention on your life.
“And that’s great, but when things aren’t going so well it can be quite difficult. How do you deal with that?”
The rough with the smooth
“You have your difficult moments,” Amanda answered. “But you have to take the rough with the smooth.”
“We’ve just talked about how you weather a storm, so we’re pretty resilient in the hills.
“That’s all you’ve got to do.
“The bottom line is, if you’re proud of what you’re doing, you have to kind of shoulder it. In other words, get on with it.”
Amanda appears on Winter On The Farm tonight at 8pm on Channel 5.
What did Amanda and Clive say about the rumours?
Earlier in October, reports surfaced that Amanda and Clive were experiencing difficulties in their marriage.
Eventually, the couple – who have been married for over 20 years – issued a statement.
“With the TV show and the books we’ve always aimed to show the reality of life on the farm, and just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids.
“We’re a normal family and we’ve never said our marriage is perfect.
“Unfortunately the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we’re going through.”
