Mum of Strictly star Adam Peaty says she ‘doesn’t buy public vote’ after his elimination

She earlier claimed dance off was a "total farce"

The mum of Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has claimed her son’s elimination from the show was a “total fix”.

Olympian Adam, 26, and his dance partner Katya Jones left the competition last night (Sunday November 7).

They lost a dance off opposite Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin after the judges’ decisions didn’t go their way.

But it seems Caroline Peaty is not convinced Adam and Katya should’ve been in that position in the first place.

What did the mum of Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty allege?

Caroline tweeted how proud she is of her son and his dance partner just after 8pm on Sunday evening.

However, after thanking Katya, she then claimed the result was a “fix”.

She also suggested she had little faith in how the viewers had voted.

Adding a thumbs down emoji to her post, Caroline tweeted: “Proud @adam_peaty and @Mrs_katjones.

Total fix and I’m not buying the public vote.

“Such an amazing partnership and @Mrs_katjones you have taught my baby boy how to dance, thank you.”

Her tweet continued: “Total fix and I’m not buying the public vote.”

Katya had replied: “Thank you for your support Caroline and the entire family. He is definitely a dancer inside and I’ve seen it with my eyes! What a privilege it’s been for me.”

What else did Caroline Peaty say on social media?

Minutes earlier, Caroline posted: “What a total farce, neither Tilly or @adam_peaty deserve to be in the dance off!”

She later responded to a tweeter who claimed there is a difference between the worlds of sport and entertainment: “Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

“I have watched this show for the first time and I have seen with my own eyes that the judging is not consistent or fair.

“Not just with Adam either! And just so you know I am a kind person.”

ED! has contacted a representative for Strictly for comment.

Adam and Katya found themselves at the bottom of the Strictly scoreboard on Saturday (November 6) evening.

They scored 27 points for their Jive while Tilly and Nikita were awarded 31 for their Tango.

Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova scored 28 for their Couple’s Choice effort.

When it came to Sunday’s broadcast, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke voted to send Adam home.

But head judge Shirley Ballas indicated she intended to back Adam and Katya if it was down to her.

Following his elimination, Adam told his detractors to ‘challenge themselves to be better’.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday, November 13, on BBC One at 6.40pm.
