Emmerdale actor Michael Parr has thanked fans for their support after the dramatic and controversial scenes of the past few weeks.

In scenes which aired last week, Ross is shown having acid thrown at his face by drug dealer Simon who mistakes him for Joe Tate.

While the scenes divided the audiences, actor Michael has taken to Twitter to thank his fans for supporting him.

In a touching message, which went live on Wednesday 21 February, the 31-year-old soap actor wrote: “Thanks for all the lovely comments regarding Emmerdale’s extremely sensitive subject we’re dealing with. There is help for anyone who needs it on the ITV website.”

Twitter fans responded with equally heartfelt messages, with one replying: “You are doing a fantastic job portraying this storyline. Amazing acting skills!”

Another commented: “You are playing this part so well whilst leaving us all at home heartbroken for the character. Well done! Cracking job.”

One male fan spoke for all of us when he wrote: “Your doing a brilliant job tackling a sensitive subject. Well done to all involved.”

On screen, Ross discharged himself from hospital just days after suffering the shock acid attack and returned to the village.

Attempting to come to terms with his life-changing injuries, Ross has turned to alcohol and pushed his brother Pete away vowing to seek revenge on the person responsible for the attack.
