He broke villa rules

| Updated:

Earlier today, it was revealed that Love Island star Sherif Lanre decided to leave the show after breaking villa rules.

In a statement, the 20-year-old chef said he agreed with the show bosses to leave the series after nine days in the villa.

Following his departure, fans have taken to Twitter to reveal their theories on why Sherif left the show.

Some viewers are convinced Sherif could have had a secret mobile phone in the villa, which is against the rules.

One person wrote: “So apparently Sherif Lanre has been kicked of #LoveIsland for using his phone?”

Another said: “Apparently Sherif got kicked out for using his phone lmaooo .. can you blame him when that place is so boring and his hardly shown#LoveIsland.”

A third tweeted: “Apparently Sherif was caught using his phone and ringing people on the outside.”

Others wondered whether he had an altercation with a fellow islander or was caught pleasuring himself.

One person said: “Maybe Sherif got into a fight?” while another wrote: “OK so Sherif either bought a personal phone into the villa, got into a fight with Anton, or got caught masturbating.”

A third joked: “Sherif was apparently removed from #loveisland for MASTURBATING IN THE JACUZZI.”

ITV has yet to confirm the reason why Sherif decided to leave the show.

Whilst mobile phones are provided to islanders, they have restricted access and aren’t allowed to use social media or make any calls or texts.

The phones islanders use in the villa are usually for communication between them and the producers, who will usually text an islander when they have an announcement.

On Tuesday, Sherif said in a statement: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
