Love Island couple confirm wedding plans

They're heading back to the sunshine...

It’s rare that holiday romances last beyond those two weeks in the sunshine. So a few eyebrows were raised when Love Island’s Jess Shears and Dominic Lever kept up their relationship after returning home from filming the show.

And in September, they well and truly broke the mould by announcing that they’re getting married!

Well, Jess has now revealed that the couple have chosen a destination for the wedding – the Greek island of Mykonos – and started making plans for the big day.

Speaking at the ITV Gala, Jess told The Sun: “We’ve booked a venue. My brain can’t cope with all the plans. It’s like an explosion.

“It’s nice and small – we’ve just got to figure out the rest of it now. I feel like booking the venue is the easy part. Now we’ve got to think about the guest list, the dress.”

Having their wedding in such an exotic location might seem like the perfect opportunity to invite their old Love Island chums over for a reunion. But Jess isn’t sure that’s possible.

“It’s going to be such a small thing – we want it quite intimate,” she continued. “We can’t invite everyone [from Love Island] because obviously that would take up the whole 30 people. So it’s just figuring out after family where we’ve got room to have friends.”

Even though Jess and Dom didn’t win Love Island, we had a feeling their romance might last the distance.

First up, they survived allegations that Jess had slept with another of her co-stars, ‘Muggy’ Mike Thalassitis (both she and Mike vehemently denied this).

And soon after they returned home, the couple had matching tattoos done – and that’s not something you take lightly.

Jess posted a sweet Instagram message last month, in which she shared her feelings for Dom.

Alongside a picture of the couple together, she wrote: “My absolute world, the love of my life and my future husband. 4 months ago, I didn’t know him, and now I couldn’t imagine my life without him.

“Crazy how life works – it’s been a whirlwind but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

So if the couple only have room to invite a few Love Island friends, which ones are likely to make the list?

Shortly after their engagement, Dom told Cosmpolitan magazine: “In regards to invites, I suppose it’s the people you get on with, so Kem [Cetinay], Amber [Davies], Chris [Hughes], Liv [Attwood] and Sam [Gowland], really.”

Maybe ITV should set the cameras rolling – you never know what might happen…
