Lorraine Kelly’s useful gift for pregnant Christine Lampard

What every mum-to-be needs!

Lorraine Kelly has taken extra measures to ensure pregnant Christine Lampard is well looked after when she takes over the ITV show next week.

Christine, 39, will stand in for Lorraine on the ITV morning show while the host enjoys some time off with her family.

“You are on next week as I am away, I’m going to see my baby girl so you need to just relax and chill. We’ve got Mark (Heyes) and Dan (Wootton) and Dr Hilary on hand to take care of you,” Lorraine told Christine, as she appeared on the show as a guest today.

Lorraine then gave the mum-to-be a gift which she said will come in useful.

“I’ve got you this bell and I want you to sit there and do that (she rings it) to say ‘I want tea,’ ‘I want puppies and kittens’, ‘get me everything’ because I know you are so not like that,” Lorraine told Christine.

Christine laughed as she replied: “I like the bell! I am going to keep it.”

Lorraine added: “Dan, Mark and Dr Hilary are primed and ready to be at your beck and call.”

“I look forward to it, I might just abuse that!” Christine replied.

The Loose Women presenter and her footballer husband, Frank, waited until she was beyond four months pregnant to announce they are expecting.

Christine told Lorraine today that they waited because she felt anxious about something going wrong.

She said: “As anyone who goes through this [knows], you can’t help being a bit anxious. And I’m a bit superstitious, to be honest, as well. I kind of thought, ‘let’s get to the big scan and be told hopefully everything is okay so far.’

“I was just really tentative about announcing something and then maybe something happening.

“Of course, we know that can happen at any stage, but I did want to try to get as far as I could – and telling the girls [husband Frank’s daughters] and everything else.”

Christine said her step-daughters, Isla and Luna, are super-excited about having a new sibling – but they would prefer it to be a sister!

“They are desperate for a little girl! They’re constantly talking to the belly, constantly chatting and wanting to be the first name it says. It’s just lovely,” Christine revealed.

Lorraine wished Christine well as she takes over her presenting duties next week, adding that she should “enjoy every second” of her pregnancy.
