Loose Women viewers accuse ‘garish’ new set of giving them a headache

Other fans said the new look was fresh, fun and modern

| Updated:

There’s been a VERY mixed reaction to Loose Women’s brand new set.

Some viewers have claimed the bright green, yellow and red colour scheme is headache-inducing, while others have praised the makeover for being fresh and modern.

On Monday’s show, the Loose Women panel – Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Stacey Solomon – gave viewers their first look at the brand new set.

Many of ITV’s biggest programmes including Loose Women, This Morning and Good Morning Britain have moved from their usual home at South Bank, London, to the old BBC Television Centre in West London, while renovation work is carried out.

And a new home means the chance for a new set!

Loose Women has ditched its old, more muted colour scheme of soft pinks, greens and red, in favour of a zesty and bright green, yellow and red combination.

There’s a new perspex desk for the ladies to sit at, and comfy new armchairs for them to sit on.

The studio audience is now on two stories, while an electronic ticker tape runs around the back of the studio.

It’s certainly very different and not everyone was a fan…

However, many others loved the new look, and took to Twitter to share their enthusiasm.

Ruth read out a mixture of reactions on air, telling the viewers it was important for them to hear what everyone at home thought, as it was as much the viewers’ programme as the panel’s programme.

Ruth said of the makeover: “I think it looks very modern and fresh. I love the green and red.”

She then pointed to her and Coleen’s green and red outfits, joking they’d got the memo about the new colour scheme!

“This is a fresh start for us, we’ve moved here after so many years on the South Bank,” added Ruth. “I don’t know about you, I find change quite difficult. I’m a creature of habit, I have to have all my little bits and then I feel comfortable. I feel like it’s my first day of school and I don’t know where my peg is or the loo is.”

Stacey said it was all very “exciting”, while Coleen joked: “I like it. I feel very grown up! I feel like I’m going to have to be sensible and have really sensible points to make!”

Ruth also told viewers that if they heard any “clunking” during the show, it’s only because the studio is still being constructed behind the scenes!
