Saira declared: “It’s not just men who are responsible for bullying. I have had experiences where women, celebrity women, have bullied me in the work place, and it is completely unacceptable.”

The 47-year-old went on to speak about “one particular incident” she encountered with a female celebrity.

“Before she even came into the studio, she told everybody not to make any eye contact with her – and this is allowed to happen!” said Saira.

“She’s a household name, and it was my first experience ever with this presenter. She ridiculed me and at the end, she patronised me and said ‘your dad would have been really proud’.

“You’re so shocked … but what really annoyed me is that presenter has been allowed to do that for that years and nobody bats an eyelid in this industry.”

“It’s got to change, it really has,” she added.

Many fans took to Twitter to beg Saira to name the woman responsible, but she told the panel she would not identify her on TV, as the person was not there to respond to the accusations.

Film producer Harvey Weinstein, 65, has been hit with a string of sexual harassment allegations from multiple women.

Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow are among those who have spoken out about encounters with Weinstein in their early careers, while other big Hollywood stars have condemned his alleged behaviour.

He released a statement saying: “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr Weinstein… [he] has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
