Kirstie Allsopp insists Love Island’s Amy Hart has it wrong over plane clash

Air stewardess said TV presenter had been a "nightmare" during flight

Location, Location, Location presenter Kirstie Allsopp has slapped down a Love Island contestant who claimed she was a “proper nightmare” during a flight.

Amy Hart worked as a British Airways cabin crew member before signing up for the ITV2 reality series – and picked out Kirstie as the worst celebrity passenger she has attended to.

However, Kirstie, 47, has hit back at the 26-year-old to insist Amy read the situation wrong.

Amy had suggested Kirstie – known for travelling in business class with her husband while her kids fly economy on family trips – tried to use her celebrity status to sneak her children into the business class up front with her.

She is reported to have said that that Kirstie “kept going up and down [up the aisle between business and economy] with one kid and then coming back with two”.

Amy continued: “There were lots of spare seats in business class and she kept coming back with two kids, and I was like, no, if you’ve booked three seats [in business class] then you’ve booked three seats.

“I was quite junior at the time so it was my manager who told me to, but I had to go over and tell them [sitting there was not possible].”

Speaking to Heat magazine, Kirstie has explained Amy got the wrong end of the stick – and she also claimed that British Airways bosses had offered their apologies for the incident.

“Well, that’s really funny because in all circumstances I am the easiest going person. She misinterpreted a situation,” Kirstie is quoted as saying.

“She thought I was trying to get something which I wasn’t. And BA were very embarrassed about it, they were very sweet about it and they were profusely apologetic and it was just one of those things.”

But on social media yesterday afternoon, Kirstie was a little less reserved when addressing the spat.

She tweeted: “Trust me you [bleep] idiots, if I was the type to behave badly on a plane, in a train, in a bar or in a car. In a shop, with a mop, with our nanny or having a mani. On the run, just for fun, late at night for a fight. At work, with a jerk, for a bag or a [bleep] you’d know by now.”

Kirstie later tweeted that her Twitter tirade was aimed at “journalists” – but fans were stunned by the outburst.

“Stuff what they think,” said one supporter.

“You don’t need to justify yourself… we already know you :),” added another fan.

And another person wrote: “Ooooo did you stamp your foot as you wrote that? Made me smile, although I feel your frustration.”
