It's not Love Island!

Kevin Clifton has claimed that fellow Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard once attempted to steal his celeb partner, Stacey Dooley.

The British dancer will make the revelation in The Professionals special airing this Saturday (14.09.19), according to The Sun.

Kevin reportedly says: “Last year with Stacey in the salsa circle I was going for it — bang, bang, bang — overdoing it.”

He is talking about the speed dance that the stars took part in, during which each celeb briefly dances with each pro before the pairs are decided.

Kevin continues: “And then at one point, we were on a coffee break and AJ interrupted us in the middle of us talking and took her away, because he wanted to get to know and see what she was about. I was like, ‘It’s not Love Island, mate!'”

As fans of the show know, Kevin was eventually paired with Stacey and the two went on to win the series.

They’re now in a relationship, although they have largely kept their romance under wraps.

During the launch show last weekend (07.09.19), Kevin and Stacey reunited on the dancefloor to recreate their Glitterball-winning routine from last year’s competition.

They performed a smouldering Paso Doble and afterwards, Stacey panted: “I am so exhausted.”

Tess Daley, who co-hosts the show with presenter Claudia Winkleman, replied: “I can imagine you’re exhausted, that’s a tiring routine.”

Stacey laughed in response: “I’m no good now, I’m old hat.”

This year, Kevin is partnered with former Treasure Hunt star Anneka Rice.

Earlier this week, the pro took to social media to quash rumours he was ‘furious’ about the pairing.

It was claimed he was upset because he wanted to compete alongside a younger celeb.

But he set the record straight on Instagram, praising Anneka and assuring fans he’s “very impressed” and “very happy” with the 60-year-old TV star.

Anneka, who was also in the video shared on her Instagram page, told followers: “Kevin is still smiling, I love that so much. Honestly Kevin, that’s almost the best day I’ve ever had in my entire life.”

Kevin added: “Oh, listen to you, you were brilliant, you were amazing today.”
