Katie Price outrages This Morning fans with “rude” comment about Holly

Fans were utterly stunned about what Katie said

This Morning fans have rushed to Holly Willoughby’s defence after Katie Price took a swipe at the beloved TV star’s weight.

On Tuesday’s episode of This Morning, the studio crossed to Loose Women to find out what was coming up on the next show.

One of the items was about a new cake and cheese combination, which led Loose Women panellist Katie to remark: “Holly, you need to eat this. You’re losing far too much weight.”

When the camera cut back to This Morning’s studio, Holly chose not to respond to Katie’s comment, and instead carried on with the show.

Viewers, however, were not so restrained, and took to social media in droves to brand Katie’s remark “rude”, “uncalled for”, “vile” and “awkward”.

Other viewers felt Holly, 36, looked rather peeved and taken aback at Katie’s bold remark and did well to hide her annoyance on air.

Meanwhile, viewers assured Holly she looked fantastic and not to listen to nasty remarks.

Some also felt Katie’s remark was in total contrast to Loose Women’s recent body confidence campaign – and the current Be Kind campaign running on This Morning.

Katie made the uncalled for remark just before This Morning aired a segment on plus-size party outfits, hosted by model Hayley Hasselhoff.

Holly has frequently made it clear she doesn’t like discussing her weight in public or focusing on body image.

When asked about her svelte figure during a chat with Lorraine earlier this year, she simply said: “I’m always one of those people that if you feel happy and healthy that’s all that matters.”

And she previously told Prima: “I don’t want to encourage eating disorders. I try not to focus too much on my appearance. As long as I’m being healthy, that’s good enough for me.

“I’m quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it’s not the important thing.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
