Kate Garraway has revealed that she’s suffering from a mysterious eye injury on her radio show.
The ITV star took to Instagram while presenting her show on Smooth Radio to confess that she had absolutely no idea why her eye was causing her so much pain.
Kate, who recently took time off work to help her husband who is still battling coronavirus, said she woke up “really sore”.

“Morning – am I looking clever?” she asked her followers.
“I always think that when I’ve got my glasses on I look a bit more brainy. But if you’re listening to me on Smooth Radio you’ll know that nothing has actually changed.

“I’ve got a really sore eye. It’s really hurting and I don’t know what I’ve done to it. I can’t put my contacts in and I’m wearing my glasses.”
“The songs however, are as perfect as they always are here on Smooth Radio so do join me,” she added.

Susanna Reid praise’s Kate Garraway’s ‘brave face’
Kate’s husband, Derek, has been in hospital since March after contracting coronavirus, which is now entering its second wave in the UK.

Speaking on GMB earlier this month, Susanna Reid said of her friend and co-star: “It has been a nightmare that has knocked all of us for six, but Kate is living through it every day.
“To watch her put on a brave face and carry on has been an utter inspiration for all of us who work on the show. And I also know she’s an inspiration to everyone who watches it.”
Kate Garraway returns to work
Kate’s return to work back in July was highly praised by GMB viewers at the time.
She also took some time out in September to send her kids, Darcey and William, back to school.
Earlier this month, Kate revealed how she planned to visit her husband in hospital on their 15th wedding anniversary.
Kate spent the anniversary at home with her family and went into hospital to read Derek a card.
