JLS’ JB Gill wants to follow Aston Merrygold’s footsteps and do Strictly Come Dancing

Could we have another JLS star on the dance floor?

Nearly seven years after winning Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas special, (and spending a lot of that time in-between turning down the main show) we could be ready for another member of JLS on the ballroom dancefloor.

JB Gill scored a whopping 39 out of 40 when he took the trophy for the Christmas special in 2011 with dance partner Ola Jordan.

He went on years later to appear on ITV show Dance Dance Dance, alongside his wife Chloe.

Following his Strictly Christmas success, bosses of the show had been trying to get the singer-turned-farmer on the main show.

Except so far, every year, he has had to say no.

JB runs a farm in Kent and has had to turn down the show in the past because he can’t take three months off from looking after the farm.

That could be about to change, though!

Speaking to the Daily Star he said: “Obviously Aston has just done it and I love the show, I would do it, I definitely would.

“The hardest thing for me is I have the farm, and it’s a good three months away from home, and Christmas is the busiest time of the year for us.”

That refers to the fact that one of the farm’s main exports is turkeys.

Pretty popular at Christmas time!

But the Songs Of Praise host also revealed that the farm was starting to expand and it might actually make things a bit easier.

Could that mean he’s willing to step away from the farm with a bit of extra help on board?

Let’s so hope!

JB’s former JLS bandmate Aston Merrygold was a huge success on last year’s Strictly, which saw him teamed with pro dancer Janette Manrara.

There was outrage when the bookies’ favourite was shockingly eliminated from the show in week seven, after judge Craig Revel Horwood scored them just four points.

However, Aston simply said: “I’m honestly gutted but, I mean, you have to take it on the chin as it’s such a brilliant show and, as I’ve said from day one, if I ever was to leave, I’m just happy I got to do it in the first place.”
