It may have been early but Jay McGuiness was on the ball as he appeared on today’s Good Morning Britain.
He made a quick-witted reply to Richard Madeley after the presenter mocked his look.
As he appeared to promote his show Celebrity Hunted, Jay admitted he had been “roughing it” on the programme to avoid being caught by the hunters.
“Like you have this morning?” Richard joked referring to the singer’s appearance.
“Dude, don’t even get me started on your caramel highlights!” Jay quickly retorted, causing Richard Arnold on the sofa beside him to laugh out loud.
Laughing off the remark Richard, who is standing in for Piers Morgan while he’s on holiday, said his hair colour was all natural.

“This is sunshine! Everyone thinks I have been to the salon. I haven’t, I have just been to France for a month and this happened,” he said.
“Blessed!” Jay replied.
Taking Jay’s comments in good humour, Richard added that it was a “good comeback”.
Moving on from differences over their hairstyles, Jay went on to talk to Richard and his co-host Ranvir Singh about his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

He won the show in 2015 and said it was hugely nerve-racking to perform live every Saturday night.
He said it has changed his life as he has since been touring the country taking part in live Strictly shows and has been offered other stage roles.
He also said it has changed his fanbase as older people now recognise him as well.
