James ‘Arg’ Argent was rushed to hospital amid overdose concerns

His friends were concerned about him

James ‘Arg’ Argent was rushed to hospital on Wednesday (04.12.19) amid concerns he had suffered an overdose.

The former Only Way is Essex star worried his friends after they couldn’t get hold of him for 48 hours, so they alerted emergency services, and an ambulance crew spent three hours at the 32-year-old reality TV personality’s house, where they reportedly found him “out of it”.

Arg initially refused to get into the ambulance but was eventually taken to hospital.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Arg was disorientated and looked like he hadn’t eaten in days.

“He has been in denial of how bad it’s got and convinced everyone he’s fine but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

“He’s been suffering with depression and has been in a bad place for years. This is another blip in his recovery but it is the wake up call he needs.

“Arg is desperate to be happy and healthy again and now accepts he needs professional help to overcome his demons.”

Arg had been scheduled to attend a Pretty Little Thing fashion launch in Dublin on Wednesday (04.12.19), but failed to show up as planned, sparking concern.

He spent a night in hospital but is said to have discharged himself in order to fly to Belfast for a PA with Brian McFadden.

In October, Arg’s girlfriend Gemma Collins called police after he failed to return people’s calls and officers broke into his home amid concerns he had overdosed.

But he later played down concerns and said: “I wasn’t speaking to a certain person so I didn’t reply.

“They became concerned and called the police and ambulance. They turned up and checked on me. They came up to my room to make sure I was fine.

“I wasn’t speaking to this person for a reason and they were worried about my safety because I wasn’t answering the phone.”
