Jake Quickenden’s Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer sent home sick AGAIN just days before show

This is NOT good news for Jake

| Updated:

Dancing On Ice’s Jake Quickenden has revealed skate partner Vanessa Bauer was been sent home sick AGAIN just three days before their next performance.

The former X Factor star announced on Instastories that the pair have been dealt a cruel blow.

At around 7am, he told fans that he was heading to do four hours of training with Vanessa after a successful rehearsal yesterday.

Unfortunately, he then added another post a few hours later saying: “So Vanessa had to go home ill again. So now I think I’m dancing… well I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

A deep voice in the background shouted out: “With me.”

Jake then flipped the camera to show professional skater Matt Evers, who was sitting in the room with him.

A rep for Dancing on Ice confirmed to ED! that Vanessa was no longer at the studio but it is hoped she’ll return for rehearsals later today.

Jake will perform in the group routine at the weekend but a decision on his solo skate will not be made until the weekend, so it’s unclear whether he will be given a pass to the next round or a replacement partner if Vanessa is too unwell to perform.

A spokesperson for Matt told us he was already in Sheffield on Tuesday to help Jake and Vanessa with ‘headbanger’ move, so when Vanessa fell ill he was on hand to train with Jake in her absence.

It’s no doubt dreadful news for Jake, who has already lost three days of rehearsing with Vanessa due to her coming down with a contagious virus.

He had hoped she was on the mend, after revealing on Twitter yesterday she’d made rehearsals.

Jake said: “Massive respect to @TheVanessaBauer dragging herself to come rehearse today, glad you’re feeling better… let’s do this, good session today!! Get some rest see you tomorrow.”

Which led to a massive sigh of relief from their fans…

Professional skater Vanessa had tweeted on Valentine’s Day that she had been laid up in quarantine with a virus.

She said: “Thank you for all the get well wishes Been sick with a contagious GI virus and hope to be on my feet/skates asap to teach Jake the choreo and deliver a good show on Sunday! The show must go on.”

Vanessa also took to Instastories to rubbish an article that suggested Jake would have to skate with a reserve partner.

She wrote over the article saying: “No way!!! I will stay on @jakequickende14’s side this weekend. No reserve”

Jake had previously told fans he was banned from seeing Vanessa for 72 hours while she recovered, meaning they were behind on choreographing and rehearsing a skate.

Yesterday, a rep for the show told Entertainment Daily!: “At the moment Jake and Vanessa are back training, so at present are likely to perform on Sunday.”

But it remains to be seen whether she can recover from her renewed illness in time to make the show.

The dynamic duo topped the leader board on Sunday just before she was taken ill, and she was clearly impressed by his performance.

She said on her Instagram account: “Can we take a moment to look at @jakequickenden14 ‘s beautiful spiral position please ?! Thank you so much for your votes once again !!! It is sooo much appreciated  We are super happy to skate together for another week on @dancingonice.”

Hopefully now, Vanessa can get enough rest in-between rehearsals to get through their performance on the night, and not end up in the double elimination!
