Coronation Street: Fans theorize Ryan’s return linked to Michelle’s shooting by Phelan

Drama is heading for the cobbles

Coronation Street fans have known for a while that Ryan Connor is set to return to Weatherfield – but the date of his comeback is still a mystery.

But some fans have a heartbreaking theory about his return, which has come after it was revealed Michelle will be shot by Pat Phelan in the coming weeks.

But instead of Ryan returning as his mother fights for her life, or even for her funeral if she doesn’t survive, the theory is more heartbreaking.

With Michelle’s wedding edging closer and closer, fans think Ryan will make a shock cobbles comeback just in time for the wedding.

One fan thinks Ryan will make a surprise entrance into the wedding reception, shocking Phelan leading him to accidentally shoot Michelle.

They wrote: “Ryan could return this week and run in as Phelan holds everyone hostage and get his mum shot.”

Another added: “Yes Ryan is back this week. Expect fireworks.”

While a third claimed: “Corrie’s Michelle to be shot by Phelan and Ryan to return!”

Corrie boss Kate Oates has teased how major storylines will collide for Phelan’s final stand.

She told the Metro: “I can say that Phelan was biblical on those sea walls – he imposes his own biblical imagery and there is definitely that in his exit.

“We have collided stories like we did last May with Who Pushed Ken, Bethany’s story and Nick’s exit.
