First Love Island 2019 cast member revealed as YouTuber Sav Berry

Tabloid reckons hunk is signed up for upcoming ITV2 series

The first cast member for the upcoming series of Love Island has been revealed, according to a report.

The Daily Star claims 23-year-old YouTuber Sav Berry has been lined up for the ITV2 reality show when it begins in the next few weeks.

According to the news outlet, a pal of the dating programme hopeful has passed on images of him posing for what apparently appears to be promotional shots for the series.

It is claimed photographs seen by the tabloid show Sav standing in front of a pink backdrop with brightly coloured beachwear on.

Another snap of Sav strutting in front of a black and white background, as seen in the previous segments filmed to introduce the show’s characters, is also said to have been seen by Star journalists.

However, Love Island reps are remaining tight-lipped about whether Sav has been selected for the initial group that will launch the summer TV favourite.

An ITV spokesperson told ED!: “Any stories surrounding the line up are pure speculation and we will confirm this year’s line-up in due course.”

Also tipped to appear in the 2019 Love Island line up is Rochelle Humes’ younger sister Soph Piper.

Producers are said to hope the 20-year-old will thrive on the show in the ‘famous relative’ slot that brought Dani Dyer to the attention of viewers last year.

According to The Sun, a telly insider claimed they are “desperate” to sign Soph up to head to Mallorca and go into Casa Amor – although it is thought she may not have made a final decision whether to take part.

The anonymous source is reported to have said: “ITV2 bosses are really keen for Soph to be the star of this year’s series.

“Last year they had Dani and her claim to fame with dad Danny captured viewers and boasted the show’s ratings.

“This year they’re hoping to do the same with Rochelle and her youngest sister, who’s the spitting image of her.”

It is believed filming for some aspects of Love Island 2019 has already begun but the series is not expected to start airing until June.
