Lauren Goodger considers I’m A Celeb for career boost and to outdo ex Mark Wright

What a shocking motive!

Everyone has different reasons for taking up the offer of going down under for a stay in the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle.

Whether it’s to relaunch a flagging career, unleash your worldview on an unsuspecting public, make a bit of cash or just bag a free flight to Oz, there are all kinds of factors that influence a celeb’s decision.

However, if rumours are true of one particular contestant, then I’m A Celeb could be about to get its most outrageous motive yet for going on the show.

According to  source in The Daily Mirror, Lauren Goodger is the latest famous face mulling over a move to the jungle in an effort to reboot her career.

Lauren shot to fame thanks to her part in The Only Way Is Essex back in 2010, and has since featured on Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Big Brother and In Therapy.

Lauren is reportedly concerned that she’s becoming more famous for her off- screen romantic issues than for anything she does on TV, and has decided to take measures to change things.

But behind her decision to head to Australia is, according to the Mirror, a desire to out- do former flame Mark Wright who has gone on to much greater success since leaving TOWIE behind!

Lauren was engaged to Mark after he proposed to her in a pub car park in an episode of TOWIE, following an 11 year relationship.

Their rollercoaster relationship had been famous for its ups and downs both on- screen and off, and after just five months, the pair called off their engagement for good.

Now, Mark is married to Our Girl star Michelle Keegan and has moved to Los Angeles where he is enjoying success as a correspondent for Extra TV, working alongside former Saved By The Bell star, Mario Lopez.

The Mirror’s source suggests that it’s all too much for Lauren, who is desperate to go on I’m A Celeb as Mark did in 2011, finishing as runner- up to Dougie Poynter.

Not only that, but Lauren also reportedly wants to enjoy a jungle romance in a bid to find her own celebrity partner, just like her ex Mark.

“She’s been hinting that she’s thinking about it and is desperate to return to TV. She’d love a celebrity romance in the jungle so she can steal all the headlines and then relaunch herself,”the source says.

“Ideally, she wants to be part of a celebrity power couple. She’s hell-bent on going one better than Mark and becoming more famous than him – she says she won’t give up until she is,” the source continued.

Lauren will have her work cut out if the rumours are true, but it’s sure to make for great TV!
