I’m A Celebrity viewers turn on “fame-hungry” Fleur East

Others jumped to her defence

Fleur East has faced her fair share of Bushtucker trials since entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle, taking on three trials this week alone.

But, her attempts to win meals for her campmates has resulted in some fans accusing her of being “fame hungry” and suggest she’s only taking on trials to get more screen time.

After Fleur took on another trial during last night’s show alongside campmate James McVey, viewers shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One person wrote: “No way did Fleur do another bushtucker trial last night, becoming a joke how much air time this girl wants, hungry for fame.”

Another added: “Seen more of fleur these past weeks than my own family.”

A third fumed: “I’m sorry but Fleur again? She’s done every [bleeping] dingo dollar challenge and a bunch of recent trials.

“Any well mannered, non-attention seeking person would have stepped back and let someone else have a go.”

Another said: “LIKE if you agree Fleur East is 100% fame hungry.”

Despite the barrage of tweets complaining about the 31-year-old X factor star, her loyal fans quickly came to her defence.

One follower tweeted: “You are sick of her because you cannot stand the fact that she is amazing.

“I did not see you complain when she was the only one not to have done a trial. Was she receiving airtime while others were doing trials?”

Another wrote: “How can people not love Fleur? She’s hilarious!”

Fleur has admitted that her path to fame wasn’t easy after being in numerous failed girl bands before making it big as a solo artist on the X Factor in 2014.

Her cousin Nick Meaney revealed that when her girl group Addictiv Ladies left the X Factor in the second week in 2005, depression left Fleur struggling to leave the house.

Nick told The Mirror: “She was just jobbing, trying to get her music out there. She found she was depressed. Her career wasn’t going the way she wanted it to.”

But since heading to the jungle, not only has Fleur received a flood of work offers, it’s also been revealed that she’s set to be on screen with her campmate Emily Atack on a new kid’s show.

Fleur and Emily are set to star alongside Pussycat Dolls star Kimberley Wyatt in CBBC series Almost Never about a talent show in the New Year.

Emily has a role as the mum of two of the show’s hopefuls while Fleur will make a cameo appearance.
