I’m A Celebrity bosses ‘in absolute panic over shutdown of set’

Could the entire series be axed?

I’m A Celebrity bosses are reportedly in “absolute panic” as a clips show airs as a replacement again tonight.

The 2021 series was closed down yesterday due to damage sustained to the set due to the bad weather.

All contestants left Gwrych Castle and entered quarantine to ensure the series will continue while production issues are addressed.

However, there are reportedly fears of cancellation for the rest of the run.

I’m A Celebrity ‘disaster’

According to the Mirror, insiders are worried the series could ended prematurely.

A source reportedly claimed the “shutdown has caused absolute panic” with only essential crew members left on set.

They continued: “I’m A Celebrity is the jewel in ITV’s crown – one of their top-earning and most popular shows.

“Having it disappear, even for 48 hours, a week into the series is a disaster.”

ED! has approached a representative for I’m A Celebrity for comment.

Is I’m A Celebrity on tonight?

I’m A Celebrity is on tonight (Sunday November 28). But it won’t be a typical episode.

That’s because a compilation programme replaces this evening’s show, as it did yesterday.

I’m A Celebrity is the jewel in ITV’s crown.

Narrated by Ant and Dec, these two specials feature memorable moments and highlights from previous series.

Nonetheless, as yet, ITV has not confirmed when programming will return to that which fans would expect.

What  fans reckon

Some fans have admitted on social media that it might be best to can this series.

“Time to cancel the show #ImACeleb,” tweeted one person ahead of I’m A Celebrity tonight.

Another I’m A Celebrity fan suggested: “If I’m honest, best thing to do is cancel the rest of the shows and do it in the summer.

“Too cold outside for a start and much more pleasant outside in the summer than winter, especially with the previous weather! #ImACeleb.”

Someone else agreed: “May as well just cancel it. The whole point is they live on rations and in worse conditions so it puts everything to the test.

“Going back to a nice bed, hot shower and great food for a few days just ruined the entire point of the show #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity.”

“So all the celebs have been removed from the castle for two days, probably in a 5 star hotel. May as well cancel this series #ImACeleb,” another viewer wrote.

And another fan pondered: “Why do I feel that for the first time ever @imacelebrity will cancel or something? #ImACeleb.”

A compilation episode of I’m A Celebrity’s best moments airs tonight, Sunday November 28, on ITV at 9pm.
