I’m A Celebrity star ‘in secret romance’ with Love Island contestant

Well, producers did want I'm A Celeb to rival Love Island!

There had been high hopes that I’m A Celebrity’s Jack Maynard and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo would provide a steamy jungle romance this year.

But then YouTuber Jack, 22, abruptly left the show to defend himself against tabloid stories and it emerged Toff’s back with her ex-boyfriend anyway!

And now it’s been claimed that Jack isn’t single either, meaning all those jungle romance rumours were, well, rumours!

According to The Sun, he’s been secretly dating former Love Island contestant Danielle Sellers, 22, for the past seven months.

A source said: “They’d quietly attended industry events together and made no secret among pals of how close they were.

“Jack has been making it sound like he’s single since he’s been on the show but he’s been saying different things around Danielle.”

It’s quite ironic given rumours swirled ahead of I’m A Celeb starting that show bosses wanted to rival Love Island in terms of the romance factor.

Neither Jack nor Danielle has commented on the claims.

And, we know, she only appeared on Love Island in July, so how the whole seven months thing works, well, we aren’t sure.

While Danielle hasn’t spoken about Jack, interestingly, she has been liking tweets about his time in the jungle, including one by Katie Hopkins blasting ITV for Jack’s departure.

Jack left I’m A Celebrity on Tuesday, just days after arriving in the jungle.

His spokesperson said a decision was made between Jack’s managers and ITV to withdraw him from the show so he could defend himself against recent tabloid stories.

The star apologised after old, now-deleted tweets from 2012 surfaced in which he had used racist and homophobic language.

In a video apology posted to YouTube on Thursday night, Jack said: “I’ve been really stupid in the past.”

“I’m so sorry to anyone that I offended, anyone that I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable. I’ve tweeted some bad things, some horrible things, some pretty disgusting things that I’m just ashamed of.

“I was young I was careless, I just wasn’t thinking, this was back when I had just left school and I didn’t know what I was doing.

“All I can do is beg and encourage that you guys don’t make the same mistake as well. Don’t put anything online you wouldn’t say to your mum.”

I’m A Celebrity continues 9pm on ITV.
