I’m A Celebrity forced to address cover up claims made by viewer

Mystery on set left fans baffled

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here viewers have claimed that the hit ITV show isn't filmed live - all because host Ant McPartlin's watch had been covered up.

Eagle-eyed viewers must have been watching extremely closely when Ant and Dec appeared on I'm A Celeb spin off show, Extra Camp, and have been making claims the whole production is fixed.

But hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett soon rubbished these by clearing the confusion up.

One viewer even wrote into the show to demand some answers about Ant's covered timepiece.

But, fear not, the mysterious taping wasn't on Ant's watch because of some huge cover up... it was simply so that campmates didn't catch a glimpse and work out what the time was.

Watches are of course banned in the jungle - leaving campmates no idea what time of day it is.

Scarlett, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year laughed off the claims... "Bloody hell Moira, someone got a HD TV on Black Friday!

I can reveal we are live, that's why we make lots of mistakes!

"Now, I can reveal, the reason for this is, is actually, we are live, that's why we make lots of mistakes.

"It's so the campmates don't know the time, so all the watches are covered for the people that see the campmates all the time, like Ant, Dec and Medic Bob.

"I think it's just so you're really disorientated, like we had no concept of time. I always remember, and I don't know if I'm allowed to say this.

"We all once went to bed at around 4pm and you obviously in there by yourself, but they did have to say, 'Guys, it's a lot earlier than you think.'"

Joel Dommett, who also took part in last year's series, then revealed there's a tannoy in the camp as well, which had to tell the campmates, "Guys, it's really early."

So there you have it. No big cover up or mysterious goings on in the jungle - just another trick to make life in camp as hard as possible.
