What a gent!

I’m A Celebrity viewers have praised Nick Knowles for letting his campmates go for a luxury banquet while he stayed in camp.

On Monday night’s show, John Barrowman, Rita Simons and James McVey took part in Bushtucker trial through the Australian outback to try and win their campmates a place at the meal.

However, they only managed to bag 10 out of 11 stars meaning one celebrity had to be left behind in Croc Creek.

As the trio returned to camp, Rita told their campmates they got 10 out of 11 stars.

Nick immediately praised them, saying: “That’s amazing.”

He told the Bush Telegraph: “They all came back and told us they got 10. That was fantastic and a wonderful effort but it was 10 out of 11.”

Rita told the camp: “So one person doesn’t eat.”

The camp then discussed which of them would have to be left behind.

Nick pointed out that because he’s now the camp leader, he doesn’t have to do any chores around the camp, therefore he doesn’t think he should be treated to the meal.

Nick told the group: “I’ve been thinking about this all day today and I’m in the enviable position of not being able to help out around camp.

“So the decision is very easy.”

He then told the Bush Telegraph: “It doesn’t make sense for the person who does least [around the camp] to go out and have the big slap up meal.

“The very sensible way to go about it is or me to stay and them to go.”

John told Nick: “I missed the [final] star..” before Nick interrupted: “You three have had a physical day which means if you don’t go and eat a good meal tonight, in two days time, you’re going to crash with it.”

Nick said: “Look they’ve appointed me camp leader, I am pulling rank on it. I am doing fine.”

John then thanked Nick for sacrificing his place at the meal to allow his campmates to enjoy it.

Pulling John aside, Nick told him: “I know you’re finding this hard.”

John replied: “I am finding it hard because I feel like I’m the one who lost the star. I’m not beating myself up over it but when I missed it, I was prepared to not be the one to go [to the meal].”

The campmates then went off to enjoy their delicious banquet while Nick stayed at the camp and cooked himself rice and beans.

Viewers watching from home were left emotional over Nick’s heartwarming gesture to his campmates and praised him on Twitter.
