What did David get up to on last night’s I’m A Celebrity?

Last night’s show saw David reveal to his I’m A Celebrity campmates how he’d ‘died’ and come back to life on a football pitch. The incident happened during a charity football match in 2017.

David Ginola, now 54, had collapsed during the match and technically ‘died’ for 12 minutes, before being revived. Speaking of the incident, David said: “Just playing football at one stage and you just fall to the floor. So they have to perform CPR for 12 minutes and they arrive with the defibrillator and shock me one time, two times, three times…”

The I’m A Celebrity star said after the fifth shock, he had a heartbeat. He said that the doctor had said to him: “You’ve been very lucky David, it’s a miracle. In your condition, 9 out of 10 would have died.”

He then went on to explain how he wondered if he had come back to life for a purpose when he was revived.

“It’s one of a kind,” David said of the incident. “You just walk like this and boom, fall over and it’s over. It is crazy when you think about it.”

“Come on, let’s cook some rice. We need some rice and beans to get stuck in!” he said, bringing the discussion to a close.

What else did David do?

Fans of I’m A Celebrity were also impressed with David’s leadership skills, which he displayed to campmates last night. The ex-Newcastle United star gave Danny Miller a pep talk before the Emmerdale star took part in a Bushtucker trial.

“Think about all the good things and not the bad things,” the footballing legend told the actor.

“So you can say ‘I’ve not done that before’. You’re gonna do it, you’re gonna do it. It’s as simple as that,” he continued.

“You’re strong. I believe in you. You’re gonna be proud of yourself, do it for you, just for you.”
