I’m A Celebrity: Intruder removed after ‘security breach’ at castle

The person was removed 'with immediate effect'

An intruder managed to get into the I’m A Celebrity castle and had to be removed, ITV has confirmed.

The person, who has not been identified, is understood to have got into the set at Gwrych Castle this week.

However, they were removed “with immediate effect”.

It is not known whether David Ginola, Louise Minchin and the rest of the campers were aware of what had happened.

ITV said in a statement: “A security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the location with immediate effect.

“The safety of both our celebrities and our production crew remains our primary concern.”

I’m A Celebrity castle has seen a lot of drama

The reality show has seen plenty of drama in recent days.

As well as the intruder, the campers and viewers were left reeling after fan favourite Richard Madeley’s shock exit.

The star was thought to be a strong contender to be crowned King of the Castle but had to leave after falling ill.

The presenter was found to be fine after being checked out at a local hospital.

But as he’d been out he had breached the “COVID bubble” and was not able to return to camp.

Hosts Ant and Dec usually present the nightly show live from the castle in Abergele, Wales.

But with weather forecasters predicting that Storm Arwen would be sweeping across Wales, the show was recorded in advance.

The broadcaster said: “Our celebrities will remain inside the castle which is secure and we have contingencies in place to cover all weather scenarios to ensure the safety of our cast and crew.”

There was also a minor drama when Naughty Boy and Frankie Bridge fell out over rice, how to cook it, and who the main camp belonged to.

However, the pair seem to have patched things later.
