I’m A Celebrity viewers fuming as Ian Wright snaps at Ant and Dec

They were only trying to help

Ian Wright shocked fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in the latest trial by snapping at Ant and Dec.

The former footballer, 56, had to do a Bushtucker Trial with ex rugby ace James Haskell, 34, that involved feeling their way through a pitch-black dungeon filled with all manner of creepy crawlies.

It was a frustrating experience for the campmates from the get-go, as they couldn’t see a thing and kept missing the stars they were looking for by mere inches.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly tried to offer what encouragement they could, wincing every time Ian and James unknowingly came close to a star.

As the pair moved from one room to the next, gutted at having only found a handful of stars at that point, James said to Ian: “We didn’t check the floor very well here, but I can’t find any.”

From outside the dungeon, Ant tried to be helpful and told them: “Honestly, if you’re on your hands and knees and they’re on the floor then it’s easier to find.”

Ian, increasingly frustrated with the difficult Trial, snapped sarcastically: “Yeah? Oh thank you, Ant! Thanks, Ant!”

Ant and Dec could only share an awkward glance as the Trial continued.

Viewers on Twitter were fuming, as one said: “How dare Ian be rude to Ant and Dec whilst that trial.”

Another tweeted: “How Ant and Dec didn’t smack Ian there I don’t know.”

Someone else put: “Ian’s even been rude to Ant and Dec, words cannot describe how much I hate him #imaceleb.”

A fourth wrote: “Omg the the way Ian spoke to Ant and Dec.”

In the end, the lads managed to get six stars for the camp.

Tensions were already running high and the celebs probably could have done with a full meal each.

Ian has been accused by viewers of bullying his campmate Andrew Maxwell – and he snapped at the Irish comedian again on last night’s episode.

Omg the the way Ian spoke to Ant and Dec.

American reality star Caitlyn Jenner, the new camp leader, assigned Ian and GMB’s Kate Garraway to be in charge of the cooking.

Ian, who appeared to lack confidence in his new camp role, asked ex EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa to taste the meal he had prepared, but Andrew warned that she shouldn’t touch the food as the celebrities are banned from doing tasks that haven’t been allocated to them.

Ian then had a go at him for getting involved.

Ian’s wife has since offered her take on her husband’s behaviour and dismissed allegations of bullying.

In a chat with The Sun, Nancy Hallam admitted Ian “has his moments” but put his tiffs with Andrew down to the fact they are both “quite strong characters”.
