It’s another fortnight until viewers will get to vote for their I’m A Celebrity champion but many have already decided who they want to see crowned King of the Jungle.
Football manager Harry Redknapp has emerged as a huge fan favourite thanks to his witty anecdotes, his enduring love for his wife of 54 years Sandra, and his bravery and humour when facing disgusting Bushtucker Trials.
In last night’s episode, he also showed his chivalrous side when he allowed the female campmates to use the shower first, then turned his back while he waited because “the only woman I want to see in a bikini is Sandra”.
Such is his popularity, many viewers of the ITV show have taken to Twitter to say Harry, 71, should just be given the crown now.
One wrote: “If Harry Redknapp doesn’t win I’m a celeb the whole of the UK is gonna go into meltdown.. what a man.”
A second agreed writing: “Hope Harry Redknapp wins I’m a celeb, what a guy.”
A third tweeted: “Harry Redknapp needs to win I’m a celeb. He is just brilliant,” while a fourth added: “Vouching for Harry Redknapp to win I’m a celeb… literally adore him.”
A fifth gushed: “Harry Redknapp has got to win I’m a celeb
#sofunny #legend #genuinenicebloke.”
Another fan of the grandfather said: “If Harry Redknapp doesn’t win I’m a Celeb, there’s no justice.”
One even declared: “Harry Redknapp is the best I’m a celeb contest of all time.”
Harry’s surprising popularity has left the bookies fearing they will be massively out of pocket.
William Hill reported this week he could cost them more than £50,000 should he be crowned King of the Jungle.
His odds have been cut on a daily basis to the point where he is now the clear favourite to win the show. He is 11/10 with Emily Atack 11/2 second favourite and both John Barrowman and Nick Knowles 6/1.

“As a football manager, Harry Redknapp has bloodied the noses of us bookies on more than one occasion and he could be set to do it again as a campmate,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “He is showing more than a typical footballer’s bravado and the nation have fallen in love with him.”
However there could be one spanner in the works to Harry becoming the champion. His son Jamie wants to vote him out so he can be reunited with his mum as soon as possible!
