John Michie is returning to Holby City, a new trailer has revealed.
The 61-year-old actor, who plays Guy Self in the BBC medical drama, has been absent since the tragic death of his daughter one year ago.
A new Holby City trailer for episodes airing this autumn has revealed that John’s character will be making a shock comeback.
Scenes show him with fan favourite Fletch – and the pair are clearly being a bit spiky with each other.
His comeback storyline has otherwise been kept under wraps, and it’s not yet confirmed whether the return is permanent.

It’s been a horrendous year for John, after his 25-year-old daughter died at the Bestival music festival in Dorset.
Louella died in September 2017, leaving her actor dad bereft.
Her boyfriend, rapper Ceon Broughton, was arrested and later appeared in court over the tragic death.
Ceon denied one count of manslaughter and three counts of supplying class A drugs.
It is alleged that her boyfriend supplied Louella with the party drug 2CP at the music festival Bestival.
It is also alleged that he failed to get help when she lay dying.
Judge Mr Justice James Dingemans set the trial date for 4 February, 2019.
The Holby trailer also shows Henrik Hanssen revealing he “has doubts about everything”, while Sasha Levy admits he “feels broken” as he continues to battle his mental illness.
The sneak preview also teases a new potential romance for Serena, possible baby for Lofty and Dom, the return of Chizzy Akudolu and ongoing health concerns for Jac Naylor.
Keeping Faith star Hannah Daniel, aka ballsy lawyer Cerys Jones, joins the cast as new F1 Lia.
