Here’s why Becky Vardy is ruled out of next Bushtucker Trial

It's the question we were all asking!

When Ant & Dec said Rebekah Vardy had been ruled out of doing the next Bushtucker Trial on medical grounds, it naturally left inquisitive I’m A Celebrity viewers wondering just why.

‘Cause we’re a nosy bunch, right?

Of course we all wanted to know why the mother-of-four wasn’t able to take part in Tuesday night’s Flushed Out challenge.

Well, one of Becky’s pals has now come out and cleared it all up: she’s been banned from doing the water-based trial because of a shellfish allergy.

Speaking to The Sun, model Nicola McLean said bosses required contestants to undergo allergy tests before the jungle and as Becky is allergic to shellfish, it’s a case of better safe than sorry.

Nicola, who took part in the jungle herself in 2008, said: “I know she has come back allergic to shellfish, so they won’t let her do any fish-based activity.

“I know swimming with fish won’t kill her but it’s all health and safety first.”

Boris Johnson’s environmentalist father Stanley, 77, was also ruled out of Tuesday night’s challenge on medical grounds.

Not all water-based activities are out of the question for Becky, 35 though: she took part in a Dingo Dollar Challenge on Monday night which saw her, Jennie McAlpine and Dennis Wise dunked in a pond.

Unfortunately for boxer Amir Khan, he was the unlucky camper chosen by the public to face Flushed Out.

It’s the second Bushtucker Trial in a row for him, following his rather disastrous attempt at Monday night’s Critter-Cal Rescue, which saw him screaming “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!” after coming face-to-face with a snake.

We’ll see the results of the challenge tonight – can Amir actually succeed?

Or will it be yet more rice and beans for camp?

In Flushed Out, Amir will be locked inside a really tall box (the tallest water tank in the show’s history!) and have to race against the clock to find a series of stars as the water level rises around him.

Naturally, he’ll be joined in the box by all sorts of rather unpleasant surprises.

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly at 9pm on ITV.
