Gordon Ramsay has a BBC new show coming out called Bank Balance, but fans were confused when he announced the project earlier today.
The Kitchen Nightmares star, 53, posted about the upcoming “high pressure” game show for his followers on Instagram.
Gordon shared a teaser trailer for the programme, telling fans it was created by his production company Studio Ramsay.
He also whipped up excitement for the show, asking his UK fans if they “have what it takes” to compete.
What is Gordon Ramsay’s new show Bank Balance about?
“Coming soon to @bbc… my new high-pressure gameshow #BankBalance from @studio_ramsay! Big question is… do you have what it takes UK?”
In the clip, Gordan says dramatically: “Bank balance is a high-stakes, high-pressure game show where contestants need both knowledge and nerves to succeed. Welcome… to Bank Balance!”
How did fans react to the Bank Balance trailer?
But in the video’s comments, a number of the chef’s fans seemed confused as the show doesn’t appear to be about food.
One asked: “Will there be any food? Lol.”
“Why a game show, Ramsay?” asked another, adding: “I’ll watch it, I guess… brand new Kitchen Nightmares USA, or Gino, you and the French guy. That’s the content I’m all about.”
A third wondered: “Is it a cooking show?”
It is such an intense game with so much jeopardy to win big and lose even bigger.
“How is this related to cooking?” someone else demanded.
A fifth commented: “Ramsay is now producing game shows?”
Someone else asked him: “Where is the food?”
One fan quipped, in reference to a graphic in the trailer showing a pile of gold bullion bars: “Are you cooking gold @gordongram?”
Nevertheless, many fans said they were excited for Bank Balance to air.
Gordon Ramsay says Bank Balance will be ‘epic’
Some wondered how Gordon is able to work so hard, with one writing: “How does Gordon have time for everything in his life? Guy’s gotta have 48 hours per day or something. Inspiration.”
Gordon said of the show: “This is going to be truly epic. It is such an intense game with so much jeopardy to win big and lose even bigger, where the difference between failure and success is always in the balance.
“I’m so happy to be working with the fantastic team at the BBC and cannot wait to get in the studio and start stacking those gold bars!”
Filming is due to start later this year.
